Still Wednesday and Birdhouse Painting

This being on vacation has been wonderful doing things I love to do.  So, I have another post for today.
Remember this unpainted birdhouse?

I painted it this afternoon….and here are some different views.

Another couple of good coats of varnish and it will be ready to sit outside….

Now that I’m done, the sun is out and [...]

Feels like its been a long time…

Well I knew I hadn’t been here for a while but since the 20th of May is a long time.  I have been busy with things that didn’t include taking and posting pictures or getting ahead with some crafting either.  In between all of that my laptop crashed and I was off for over a [...]

Amy Butler and Canvas Bag

I used 2 lovely, co-ordinating, paisley Amy Butler fabrics and combined that with canvas for a new bag.  It has a pocket running along the front and back and pinned down with a covered button.      Although the canvas holds its shape nicely I did use some heavier fleece interfacing as well.  I’m pleased with the look.  It may find [...]

Mother’s Day Cookies

Madeline, my almost 4 year old granddaughter, was over while her mom and dad went out on a “date” evening.  We had dinner and then we decorated and baked sugar cookies for Mother’s Day.  I had bright sprinkles in pink, purple, majestic yellow and brilliant blue.  We rolled them out together and she cut [...]

Stuffed Red Peppers

Geisha Girl Bag/Tote

When I purchased this Michael Miller’s fabric with the gorgeous geisha girl I wasn’t sure how I would use it, but I had to have it because of her lovely face and the vibrant colours.   I’m so pleased at the result of the bag I have sewn this week.  The panel itself is large but I’m [...]

Weekend of food, festival, fun and family

The prediction of a rainy weekend wasn’t so.  It was beautifully sunny but a bit cool instead.   Saturday, Marc and I went to the Toronto Good Food Festival.   For $12.00 each we sampled all kinds of foods and drinks and watched demonstrations and came home with coupons and recipes galore.  The free products/coupons exceeded the admission [...]

Caribbean Candy Necklace

The weather this spring has continued to be just beautiful.  If this is any indication of whats in store we are in for a nice, long summer.  It is so sunny and inspiring.  You don’t have to go to the Caribbean when you have Caribbean Candy - a new brightly coloured bead necklace I was [...]

Christmas Reflecting

I love these 2 guys.  A few years ago we were in Houston over New Years and I brought home all kinds of after Christmas sale goodies which included 2 sets of Santa and the Snowman.  I gave one each to each of my sons.  Now we were flying and it was rather interesting packing [...]
