How is your weather? Has it changed from the way it used to be? Is your spring springier and your summer longer and warmer? We barely had any rain in Toronto this summer, just lots of heat.
It is so hard to imagine that a week ago people were actually still sunbathing and swimming in Lake in Ontario in Toronto. It was such a gloriously sunny and hot day. On Thanksgiving Monday around October 8th it was so hot and I swear it felt like we were the cooking turkeys. I couldn’t believe people swimming and jetskiing in Toronto in October. This Monday along with it being soooo dark when I left for work I actually had to scrape the frost from the windshield and flick on the rear window defroster. That was a very rude awakening to beginning a new week. This followed a nice enough kind of weekend. Our weather has been so fabulous all the way from April that its getting to be very hard to let go of that kind of niceness. I am :o) to report that today wasn’t as cool and yesterday afternoon did actually did warm up some. Global warming is not a good thing – but in the meantime I guess I’ll just enjoy it.
SEWING SO FUN!
How is everyone doing with their sewing? Last night I picked up some lovely fabric, one is a blue suede and the other is a very complementary floral fabric and a white dots on blue fabric for lining. I designed and sewed the bag in the evening but didn’t interface it because I was right – it does stand up quite nicely. It was fun to sew and the colour combos are great I think. Now I want to pick up some more fabric for a vest though then I would be tempted to keep them both for me…rather than put the bag into my etsy store as was planned. We’ll see. Pictures to follow….
Updating that – I made a similar bag last night – actually Tuesday. The suede is rosy brick coloured complemented with a floral fabric and a great lined pattern for the lining. I need to find a digital…hmmmm…
Thinking now about making a matching vest….key case….ipod holder…the ideas are endless….

October being Breast Cancer Awareness month I have been making pink Swarovski crystal bracelets and donating money to help support the cause. Initially I made 15 of them and after they quickly sold I have been taking orders. They really are pretty. Swarovski crystals shine so beautifully and the Swarovski pearls complement the piece so nicely. I put them into my etsy store this morning.
This is one of those forwards we send to each other. I liked it and wanted to share with you….

Today I have the kids coming over for a Thanksgiving meal. Eldest son G has an afternoon shift so we are having it today at noon instead. I set the table last night and was up earlier this morning to put the turkey into the oven. I’ll go peel the potatoes and fix up the sweet potatoes. We’re also having cauliflower with cheese sauce (lower fat cheese I’ll add) and green and yellow beans with peas. I am going to make cranberry sauce with just a touch of orange and orange peel. Those two are very yummy combined. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone celebrating today.

Citrus Honey is the soap in the top picture. Normally I use this mould to make Bee Honey Cream with Oats soap. I altered the scent a bit adding some citrus essential oils. Oh my goodness! I love this more. Its fresh and its honey and it looks so attractive.
I have had soap production over the past couple of days. I had originally planned on making 4 of my best selling glycerin soaps. That was it. I wasn’t going to experiment and love it so much that I would just keep on making more…nope.. because I knew how time consuming it was and I was only making what I needed. Funny how it never happens that way. Before all the next hours were up I had created 9 different scents of which only one was one of the four I was SUPPOSED to make. Thats how it is. The house smells soooooo good. The greatest to actually combining the essential oils to coordinate with the soap style is when they are cut. You never quite know until that time. Tomorrow I’ll wrap and label. They will go into my etsy store.
I’ve taken care of ordering more woven labels from woven labelsfor my bags and pouches. I finished crocheting Madeline’s poncho and will give it to her tomorrow on Thanksgiving. The yarn is so nice I thought but I’ll have to get Son G to take a picture of it because I don’t have a digital again. What did we ever do without some of these great accessories to life I wonder? From http://paperfarrago.etsy.com I ordered some lovely Amy Butler Glittery Scalloped Circle Tags and rectangular ones also that I plan to attach to some of my bath products and/or use as additional labels for my sewing products. I can’t wait to get those. I also ordered some wool rove! Etsy has beautiful coloured wool and I thought a new project could be in order. My order from http://TheFlyingEwe.etsy.com went into the mail for me yesterday. This weekend I’ll be able to pick up my book Bend the Rules Sewing which arrived at my other address last week already. Oh my….if I get snowed in sometime soon I am going to love it!! hmmmmm… thinking on that I’ll wait until we HAVE to have snow to say that. I love getting lovely things in the mail that I might not find out in the stores.
I sewed a skirt, vest and purse for Madelne and took it to her place to try on. She put on the vest with matching coloured top, the skirt and swung the little purse over her shoulder and modelled for her mom and dad. My son G took some pictures. This was the first time I had sewn clothes for her and wanting to keep it a secret I couldn’t get too many measurements. I was happy they fit.
Now I have other sewing ideas. Its so easy sewing cute, small sized clothes. At least its a little faster…
